Acton Lions softball tear coach, Bob Haslan looks on. out the ceremonial first pitch in the Acton photo by Simon Wilson/HHTW Lion’s Club raise money for charity By Mike Pipi Fifteen teams participated in the Acton Lions Club Sth Annual Service Club Softball Tournament held last seta raising money for local chi Between "$2500 and $3,000 was raised for Acton Food Share, Lions International, homes for the deaf, ¢ Joseph and sponsorship of minor hockey during the tourna- ment which saw teams from Acton, Georgetown and surrounding areas competing. The Georgetown Elks Club won the tournament for the second year in a row, defeating the Newfoundland Club 16-5 to take the championship. In the consola- tion final, the Milton Lions edged the Acton Pretenders 10-9. Doug McMullen of the Georgetown Elks Colarossi and Aesch shine The Little Caesars Orioles defeated the Kendal Mechanical Yankees 20-19 in Georgetown Baseball Association Junior T-Ball action, with Corey Colarossi and David Aesch recording doubles and Spencer Malcovich cracking a home run. Great defensive plays were turned in by Corey Durham and Bradley Agnew. UNIQUE & CHARMING Shawn Dunsmore hit his first home run in the Armstrong Insurance win over Nature’s Scene Dodgers 24-15. Doubles were hit by Jordan White, Amanda MacDonald, Keith Barfoot, Julie Newberry and two by Ryan Gray. Defensive gems were made by Bobby Burke, Steven Kerr and Brent Laplante.
