Everybody welcome. The fireworks display put on by the ‘volunteer firemen was outstanding with applauding crowds at Lakeview, Prospect Park, and at the Legion. Children’s Aid faces cuts Oakville and regional councillor Kevin Flynn has served notice that the Children’s Aid Society in Halton can’t afford to have $41,000 cut from its budget. Flynn, who is a board member and past-president of CAS, told Halton region council he understood that Children’s Aid Societies will be “unscathed” in the Province’s expenditure con- trol plan. However, regional chief administrative officer John Burke said all departments, including the CAS, will be affected by the plan. The region has instructed all of its departments, boards and commissions fo cut 2.2 per cent from their 1993 budgets to comply with provincial demands that municipal governments cut back spending.
