In three sets, Ouida Graville and Audrey Jans won 7-6, 6-7, 6-4 as did Sandy Lewis and Barb Rieger 1-6, 6-2, 6-4. The Ladies “C” team did not fare well against Tecumseh. Trudy Roy and Norma Maynard won 6-2, 6-3. On the losing end, Muriel Fraser and Karin Wilson lost 3-6, 5-7; Agnes Lawrence and Marg Macenko lost 1-6, 2-6; Mary Hughes and Margot Prior lost a heartbreaker 6-7 (7-4), 6-7 (7-4). The “B”1 Mixed took four point against Bramalea. Mike Hurley and Gord Buchan won 6-3, 6-1. Doug Yool and Rene March won 6-3, 6-2. Also winning, Bernie Kent and Jay Anderson 6-2, 6-3. Chris Steen and Rory Kennedy lost 2-6, 4-6. Dean Jackson and Carol Beeney won 7-6, 6-4. Ouida Graville and Ann Kennedy had to default. The “B”2 Mixed split with Brampton. Muriel Fraser and Halton girls teams dominate There were three games this past week for the Under- 17 Halton Girls soccer teams. Monday, June 28 saw Halton Red team in Streetsville playing a very physical game with no offi- cial referee. Halton scored first with goals by Stephanie O’Brien and Marita Lescak and were leading 2-0 at half time. Streetsville scored in the second half and Cindy Wilson put the game out of reach as Streetsville scored again mt were unable to get the equali ‘eucadiy: June 29 saw the Green Team in Milton with a decisive 7-1 win for the home squad. The scoring started early with two goals by Marci Roy and singles by Joy Walraven and Paula Hardy for a 4-0 lead at half time. The second half saw two goals by Kate Blyth (one was a beautiful kick from outside the 18 yard box) and a second. goal by Paula Hardy to complete the scor- ing. Milton managed a sin- gle goal in the second half but hardly put a dent in the commanding lead that pauon Green team had on ae defensive play by Kathy Shier and Amy Sykes and a good effort by Jennifer Vidler. Under Halton Blue teams play at Acton High School. Both teams were feeling the vaca- tion crunch with Blue team fielding only eight players and Red team with only 10 players. Red team scored first with two goals and Blue a managed a goal by half ae eiee fatigue and shortage of numbers took over in the second half with the Halton Red team adding three more goals to the final tally of 5-1. Scoring for the Halton Red team were Tara Foster, Cheryl Jenkins, Angela Orticello and two goals by Tracy Temple. The single Halton Blue team goal was scored by Jen Goy. The Green Team mauled Milton at Cedarvale Park Wacilas June 22, the only local team playing that week in girls Under-17 soccer. Halton Green team came out with two quick goals by Marci Roy and Kate Blyth. Two more goals were scored in the first half by Cheryl Rivard and Marci Roy scored her second goal. The second half saw Milton score early with two goals, but Halton Hills Green responded with goals by Joy Walraven and Paula Hardy. The final score ended up se 2 for Halton Hills Gree!
