First it was Jurassic Park, now another dinosaur appears in Wolfgang Peterson’s top- notch cat-and-mouse thriller In the Line of Fire. The film stars 63-year-old Oscar-winner, Clint Eastwood, as over-the-hill Secret Service Agent Frank Horrigan. Horrigan, haunted by his failure to protect U.S. President John F. Kennedy, gets a second chance when the current president’s life is INSTANT RESERVATIONS CANADA 3000 Return Airfares from: $349.- $319.- $319.- $229.- | Vancouver Calgary Edmonton Winnipeg Halifax $199.- St. Johns. $249.- ‘Add Airport Tax & GST to above prices. Eastwood and Malkovich deliver the goods in this one. Eastwood displays a warm humor (he flirts shamelessly with fellow agent Rene Russo) and vulnerability uncommon to previous film roles. Underrated previously as an actor, Eastwood appears to be entering his prime. Malkovich’s dull and laconic portrayal of psy- chopath Mitch Leary is noth- ing short of chilling. He is the perfect foil to Eastwood. When Malkovich and Eastwood are on the screen together, the film is electrify- ing. In addition, the work of Director, Wolfgang Peterson and writer Jeff Maguire, should not go unnoticed. Peterson, previously unable to duplicate his European suc- cess in America, finally does so with In the Line of Fire. His camera lives in the faces of Horrigan and Leary endow- ing the film with tension and even a sense of claustropho- bia. This helps forge a con- nection between film charac- ters and audience members. Peterson and Maguire never telegraph their blows. They build a scene to its logical conclusion then veer off in a new direction, dropping the hammer; leaving the audience breathless. Maguire has written a script that doesn’t talk down to the audience by questioning their intelligence. The script con- tains intelligent characters doing and saying intelligent things, a rarity in today’s ilms. Globe. Productions final two presentations of Into. The Woods, at the John Elliott Theatre, are scheduled for tonight (Saturday) and Sunday. In a scene from Act II, the baker and his wife (Scott Lale and Catherine Fetes) lock horns with the witch, played by photo by Simon Wilson/HHTW Sabrina Santelli. rind EZEAE Medium 3 Item Pizza, $11.99 Pick-up or Delivery n below required Free Delivery in town (Acton, Baliinafad, Limehouse) “THE HOME RUN CHAMP OF FAMILY FUN? m8 877-5281 GEORGETOWN ONTARIO *MOORE PARK PLAZA" Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday One Garlic Bread & 2 Pops Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday town charge Jumbo 3 Item Pizza, 2 Garlic Bread & 4 Pops $16.99 SUMMER SPECIAL Late Night — Saturday Night Special!
