Monthly training seminars were arranged cov- ering such diverse topics as strategic planning, financial ~ statements, risk, financing options, human resource management and marketing. Participants were matched as protégés to more experienced and successful women entre- preneurs who acted as men- tors and role models provid- ing first hand advice and encouragement. Deborah Shortill’s mentor has been Tri-ad —_‘International’s” - President and CEO, Linda Collier. Tri-ad International is a multi-million dollar freight forwarding service company. Linda Collier was chosen as the Toronto Sun’s 1991 “Woman on the Move” and Cargo Express and Air Canada’s “Woman of the Industry” for all of Canada. Although their businesses are seemingly unrelated it was discovered that basic business ‘concerns are uni- versal and Linda has provid- ed invaluable advice and support to Deborah in her expansion plans. On Friday, August 13, 1993 Hannah’s Closet -will be re-opening at 74 Main Street, Erin in a newly reno- vated building with more than double the retail space.
