However, that was before she learned it pays, in many ways, to shop in town. We are pleased to announce that our first ever downtown brochure was published last month. It includes a business directory of over 120 businesses, listed by category.- all in the downtown area. Quantities of the brochure have been distributed to a number of locations around town as well as in Milton and Brampton — places such as development site sales offices, motels and tourist information booths. Also, copies are available at busi- nesses throughout the down- town core and at the B.LA. office on Mill Street. A great deal of time and effort went into producing the brochure and we have tried to incorpo- rate many of the suggestions which we received. We are delighted with the finished product. The brochure is intended to help us spread the word about the wide variety of goods and services available in Downtown Georgetown. From the com- ments we have.received jn the short time since its publi- cation, we know it is doing its job. To Bob Law for per- mitting the use of his draw- ing of the Old Bank building for the cover and to C&S . Printing for a very profes- _sional job, thank you. Plans are currently under- ~ way for Moonlight Madness © (September 24th). Music, face painting, contests, corn roast, weenie roast and chili dinner are among the sugges- tions we are exploring. Watch our ads for informa- tion. Some of you will remem- ber the new promotion we introduced last year. The > fifty for forty (50/40) down- town dollars. Good News! They’re coming back again this year. Read next month’s column for full details. Remember to pick up a copy of the downtown brochure — you’ll be amazed at what we have to offer! THE LAST WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH IS SENIORS' DAY!
