According to the Town of Halton Hills, the trail, located between the Birchway apartments and the Legion, is 400 metres long, consisting of limestone screenings and boardwalk, and also features a wooden overlook onto Fairy Lake with a bench. The walking trail project was approved as part of the 2022 Capital Budget, with an allocation of $90,000 for construction of the trail. The plan for an accessible trail in the Birchway neighbourhood dates back to 2021 when Town Council endorsed one of two options that would see a separate pedestrian trail, barrier free & accessible, through the open space areas owned by the Town, connecting to the existing walkway block on Birchway Place. Town staff say naturalization tree planting was included in the project to help enhance the forest with more native species, with consultation from Credit Valley Conservation. Construction of the trail began in December 2022 with selective tree clearing and vegetation removal along the alignment.
