The cooling centres in Acton include the Halton Hills Public Library, at 17 River Street, and the Acton Arena & Community Centre, located at 415 Queen Street. The cooling centres are open between the hours of 11:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. during weekdays, except statutory holidays. e The Downtown Acton BIA held two contests during the month of June. The first contest was in honour of the Outdoor Market's season opening, on June 1st, where attendees of the market could enter a ballot for their chance to win $20.00 in BIA Bucks. Nancy Wilkes was picked as the winning ballot. The second contest was for Father's Day, with a chance of winning $25 in BIA Bucks. The winner for the Father's Day contest was Richard Crane.
