VOLUME 1, ISSUE 10 THE ACTON MONTHLY PAGE IT Hillsview Report With Julie Conroy Hillsview Active Living 50+ Seniors Centre - Acton On Tuesday August 15th we will be having our spaghetti dinner, you will enjoy pasta, garlic bread and ceaser salad. Come and enjoy a lovely dinner at the centre with family and friends. Children are welcome. The men used to hold a men’s breakfast every month and the ladies asked why they couldn't have on too. Now we hold both on separate days. The next ladies’ breakfast is on August 22nd and the Men’s breakfast is on August 29th. You don’t have to be a member to enjoy the breakfast, just drop in the Centre and purchase your ticket at least a week before the event. There will be a guest speaker. Our new Hillsview newsletter will be published at the end of this month. It will list the upcoming events for the next couple months for both the Acton and Georgetown Centres. As you know your membership allows you to attend both Centres. Our Annual Book and Puzzle sale is on Saturday, August 12th from 9:00am — 2:00pm. Come out and find a new series to get into or a puzzle to enjoy at home! There will be a BBQ as well from 10:30am-1:00pm. The intergenerational programs with the young people who were attending the youth camp was enjoyed by both the young people and the young at heart. They played mini putt, bingo, created art, watched movies, and went on a hike. We look forward to doing it again next year. Babysitting the grand children? On Thursday, August 17th from 1:00-3:00 we will be having a Summer Games Day when the children can enjoy playing mini putt, Corn Hole, Darts, Washer Toss Ladder Toss and more. Ice cream will be provided to all participants. The cost? $2.00 per person.
