Acton displayed individ- ual flights of brilliance, but their old nemesis, lack of team play, came back to haunt them. “We didn’t call the ball and we failed to provide coverage for our blockers,” said coach Ken Ellis. “As we get behind in this Redmen end season aspect of the game, for example, having the ball tipped over the block, the players seem to become unsettled and their person- al skills deteriorate. We had trouble, for example, in getting a proper pass to our setters following a Reding serve.” Acton’s Redmen can achieve some consolation, the coach felt, by realizing how much their play has improved over the season. Perhaps this will carry over into next year. Acton High School junior Redmen volleyball team fin- hed its season last Tuesday with 15-9 and 15-5 losses in a match against Bishop Reding Royals.
