The Women’s Institute’s Oct. 3 meeting was held in the evening, at the home of Education and Culture. All members and one visitor were present. W.I. President, Margaret Jamieson opened the meeting with an inspirational poem. For roll call, the ladies had to “Tell About the Most Unusual Building You Have Seen”. Many of the members brought along pictures to help describe the rather inter- esting structures that includ- ed Chicago’s Sears Building, Sudbury’s Science North, and movie studios in California. Betty Kooperdradd as meeting convener shared this gem with the group, “Conversation is good to rab and polish the brain against others!” She also conducted a lively quiz on the eastern Provinces. Previous meeting minutes and financial state- ment were given b Secretary Ada Kirkwood. Topics of business discussed included reviewing of several Catering jobs, the Christmas meeting, euchres at the com- munity centre, and Ada Kirkwood’s report of the W.I. Area Convention at Brussels, on Oct. 28 and 29. At the meeting’s end, a light lunch was served by and Grace McEnery.
