Hoff is a resident of Halton. For the last year, he has been a doctoral candi- date at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine in Health Policy. Citizen participation ‘in health policy decision-mak- ing has been his research interest. He has masters degrees in health adminis- tration and philosophy. As an Area Planning Coordinator for the Ontario, Ministry of Health for three years, Hoff was responsible for facilitating the work of district health councils in the Central West area, including Halton. More recently, he has held a num- ber of- other senior positions with the Ministry of Health, including Director of Policy and Director of Training and Research. According to Shelagh Gill, Chair of Halton District Health Council, “Council has reached a sec- ondment agreement withthe Ministry of Health so that David can join the staff of Council for the next year.
