Banquet; April 9 - Day of Cham; Major Novice Raiders have hot weekend The Major Novice Raiders had a hot weekend with back-to-back 7-1 home wins. The Raiders hosted Milton last Saturday, passing the puck superbly to chase their opponents out of the rink. Donnie Lane (goalie) was the Maytag repair man of Memorial Arena as the Raiders out-shot the Milton squad 32-6. The Raiders scored three goals in the first, with a nap and only one goal in the second, the Raiders came out flying with another three goals in the third. m Sunday, the Raiders hosted Brantford, which was almost a carbon copy of Saturday’s game. The Raiders again had three in the first, one in the second and three in the third period. Donny Lane made some great saves during the game, on a few wake-up calls from the Brantford offense. The Raiders get better every game with “team work” get- ting the better of their oppo- sition. The Raiders travel to Acton on Dec. 27 for a one- day tournament. 50/50 winners this week: Nan Iglesias and Don Lane.
