others that each snowstorm would be he last and agreed with myself until i almost convinced my self that this was the longest winter and the slowest spring tn history and then came recollections why just last year on the loth of april we had a snowstorm that was as heavy as the one this wek i can readily recall a victoria day with two incites of alush on the- ground and oold and miserable and twenty five years c this coming dominion day wus so cold that fires in homes and lmavy winter coats were welcome if not popular in attending the outdoor functions arranged for the holiday thehe were unusual of course and both you and i can recall more vic toria iay of tile pleasant spring weather and fine days of summer but i didnt like these unusual days then and don t appreciate them now any more than you do that uiowstorai of this week all came in one day disrupted traffic and spoiled many plans as i groused atkout the weal tier the radio news came in of man raids on crn anv twelve locomotives disabled whole industrial areas crippled hitler had a birthday but notlitng to celebrate the snow the inconvenience here in canada wasnt even a subject at all for grouting a comparative view point does make a lot of difference ordinarily you know folks who fish would be anticipating a week from saturday as a pretty important day a wek can do a lot and per haps the garden ran get a bit of spading before that time but th other morning before the enow i watched the robins in the back yard and the one worm that came close to the surface certainly took some pulling to leave his
