through the air by aero plane it was a great thrill for me on arriving at ottawa x was met by a member of the ottawa rotary and escorted to the chateau laur- ler a targe sedate hotel where i received ate in escaping any school be cause immediately after the speech we proceeded to carleton college for a discussion on citizen ship we then had lunch in the ballroom of the chateau laurier in the some of the sights which help to make the parliament buildings famous we were shown the peace tower the library the hall fame the senate and the wr memorlal in the evening we were taken to the fisher park high school for dinner we were not allowed enter the dining room until we had made a hat some of those hats put paris to shame they enter talned us by showing us through their enormous school and by a lovely program afterwards tuesday we visited the national art gallery where we studied the modern art and tried to make out what they were we then went to carleton college for our daily les in on citizenship after a wonderful lunch at th chateau laurier we were address ed by george heath mp a free period for one hour was enjojed by all then we visited the gov cnmenl house where the govcr general gave us a short ad dress we were served refresh ments and then shown the beauu ful grounds which surrounded his heme in the evening we dined at rideau room and were addressed by mr caldwell ahfilbr we visited the national museum where we- were divided into three groups and shown some of the displays which proved very inter esting afterwards we went to carleton college for our last dis cussion on citizenship we then had a very delightful lunch at the col iseum following the luncheon we went on a tour of the national capital we visited the late residence of mackcnzie king we passed
