prefer the radio and thit goes for neweats too however f dfd enjoy a presentat ion featuring r l stevenson on the islind of samoa i suppose ev entually we shali uccumb to mas enthusiasm and ret a set of our own but at the moment neither partner nor i are too enthusiastic books papers migazines and the radio are about all we can handle at present we have a little extra work right now looking after two sick dogs whatever ails them i dont know unless it is distemper they both have coughs and look pretty miserable tippy hasnt eaten any thing for three days as for honey she would eat if she were at her last gasp afterward she acts like were there really seven days last week 1 am beginning to wonder we seem to have lost a few some where or is that what generally happens when pne has company we had visitors for three days and wihen they returned tq toronto i went with them intending to ylsit daughter arid come back on the 630 train but i cut things too fine a de layed streetcar added to my troub les so i missed my train by about two minnies the first time 1 have done such a thing in yeans for- tunately daughters place is only about 10 minutes ride from the station so i went back until it was time to leave for the midnight train i had too much work wait ing at home for me to stay over night howev waiting for trre tfxe train allowed me more time with davey who was quite happy -to- have an extra person to play with then too i was able to get a full evening with television which i had not done before but i cant say i am any more sold on it certainly there are programs that one n enjoy but u find thc adverfis hstnfl a horse with the heaves tippy s 11 years old and honey six or sev en so they are rather old for dis temper especially as they were 10th inoculated for it as puppies well i guess the folk school for this county is over for another year and i didnt get to h at all that was quite a disappointment you may remember how much i enjoyed it last year howevr these days it is impossible to fit everything in that one would like tb do there were also two meet ings that partner would have liked to have goneftr and didnt sociallyminded farm folk can be very busy nowadays it is newer a problem now to know what to do during the long winter evenings the real problem s to find the long winter evenings espec ially with spring in the offing spring what a happy thought tsuppose many of you arealready planning ypur work whether it oe seeding gardening or houseclean- ing early spring brings with it a renewal of faith in the year ahead without it we could riot carry on ji is asjiepessary to our wellbeing as thfd air we breathe a friend of mine gave a series of talks on that very subject just recently and i was particularly impressed with some of her re- marks i think they will appeal to you as well there are three lev els of faith faith in god faith in others and faith in ourselve they all mork to a strong faith in god makes a trong human be ing then rthjere i faith in others if you have faith in the people around you you trust and respect them if you lack this faith you mistrust and despise ttuljn some times an unfortunate experience destroys jour faith in people dont whatever the provocation let this happen to you for lack of faith can grow like a bad weed and spoil your relationship with all you meet then there is faith in yourself without faith n your self you becorrte inadequate without vitality and lacking the power that you should be using but you can develop faith in yourself it is an act of w ill you can have faith or distrust confid ence- or fear the possibilities are within your mind vou must have this triple faith faith in god faith in others and faith in your self you can have it faith can be developed and with it comes an amazing power faith is the in gredient which mixed with pray er gives you direct communication with the divne wcl i dont think i need add anything to thoe remarks they speak for themselves but this i must say they are not mere words this friend of mine has come through great trouble of a type that few of us are called upun tb face what she says is with the voice of experience having risen above her own bitter ordeal whicn jhe could jiotjiave done without the triple faith that she mentions she is now working on another series how to develop that faith that she advocates so many people came to her askin that very question in the city town or- country it is something we ail need to know possibly now more than at any other time in history t tc7rr r t t j ntrfvrrz
