setting up a j scale for salaries and for increas es would be considered early in the new year ployces of the township of nas sagaweya when township coun cil reviewed the salaries of its em ployees at its inaugural meeting of 1966 on monday although all members agreed that annual in creases are a good thing there was a general concern about the size of the raises deputyjrceve william hoey sug- geslcr i dont question the need for increases but i wonder if we are giving enough of a raise and if wc arc going about it irx the right way i think were doing this en ti relytoo haphazardly there needs 16 be more study than just picking figures ourof a hat reeve william coulter explain ed that at present the township didnt have a- salary scale but the basic salaries and increases are usually based on a slightly lower figure that that used at the coun ty levels alter discussing the problem at great length it was understood that increases in the general area of 10 per cent would be granted this year and it was hinted that i township road department em ployees were put into three class es grader operators truck driv ers and laborers grader operat ors received a raise to j2 per hour while truck drivers were raised to 190 per hour and labor ers are to receive j170 per hour it was also agreed to pay time and a half for overtime over the or dinary 45 hour week speaking for overtime for suggestion from the two new members of the council deputyreeve hoey and council- lormrs anne macarthur that the planning board membership be increased from four to six mem bers was approved coun mac- arthur pointed out there are five voting regions in the township and suggested each region should be represented on the planning board members of council after a brief discussion agreed to in crease
