and highways and the ontario road builders association were on hand last week at the official opening of ontarios first heavy equipment school at the new schools 200acre site on the sixth line nassagaweya township the school has been in opera tion- since late may of this year and to date has graduated 32 students fully qualified to oper ate the heavy roadbuilding ma chinery that is used today ano ther 16 are now enrolled in the third course at the school and principal c c- lloyd reports classes are booked solid into next august the great- degree of coopera tion between government road builders construction machin ery manufacturers and suppliers to the industry was emphasized at the official opening last wed nesday afternoon pcsname delegates the school was the idea of the ontario road builders associa tion a group of contractors en gaged in building the provincial county and township roads of ontario they approached the department of education for assistance when they recognized the need for a central facility where inexperienced but mech anicallyinclined workers could be properly trained in the opera tion and maintenance of the bulldozers scrapers backhoes graders trucks and other heavy equipment necessary in their op- erations from then on the idea mush roomed and within about six months the school was under way the department of educa tion provided the two
