free press dear sir t should like to say here- that i heartily endorse everything mrs wilton of longfield rd acton has said in letters she has recently written which have been printed in the acton free press the last few weeks regarding the local dump after 27 years of married life most of which has been spent in travelling to various parts of the world in connec tion with my husbands work we jiaalir decided no fcufa house and after much search ing we finally chose this house on churchill road it wasnt until we had actually signed the papers and paid a deposit that we- found out about the dump the sew age disposal plant and the tannery all of which appear to pollute the air here in some form or other however we decided that it was too late to do anything about it but hop ed that something would be done soon about the three nuisances our main reason for moving so far out of toronto was to try and avoid the polluted air of a big city but we have found to our dismay that at least 75 per cent of the time it is much worse here and ap parently nothing is being done about it it isnt only the chil dren this impure air affects but also older people in fact i think i would be correct in saying that it must affect everybody in the immediate vicinity in fact the whole of the glenlca area why not make this actons centennarv project hullri a of the garbage come to some agreement with the local fac tories fl which dump waste much of it very foul smelling especially when it is burn ed and then set fire to it and generally improve this area it seems to me it is a much need ed service the rest of acton doesnt appear to me to have very much to complain about and as we al pay taxes to the township surely it is time something was done to im prove conditions for the peo ple who live here now to add insult to in jury as the saving goes we have huge piles of dirty snow impeaw tharfahunmred feet from our back door which will no doubt produce all kinds micro plastics at
