fall fair as this is a craft that is slowly passingjnsome neighs borhoods it was thought that as many younger women are not familiar with the work it would make an exhibit of interest to many young and not so young people many older women will be interest ed and will turn back in their own minds when they partici pated themselves a half century and more ago it was considered a very social event when a woman in the neighborhood put a quilt in and invited her friends in to quilt it in the evening the husbands joined them for a 1 social time in the exhibit it is expected that some of the women will be piecing blocks were still under society care for the quilt set up in frames fifty- five private and par- with ladies quilting on it en adoptions were reported the quilt committee are to the ganizations throughout the year the problem of illegitimate child births is on the rise par ticularly in this county but fortunately there is a good supply of adoption homes on the waiting list he said children referred to the society have more serious em otional problems than those of past years and an aunts and uncles type of relation ship may be set up until the disturbed children are assign ed to satisfactory homes it is apparently difficult to find homes for children who re quire only a little more at tention and love than the maiorlty of wards because the toronto metro politan
