quizzes on farm safety livestock pract ices farm machinery and cur rent trends in agriculture and identify plants and forage seeds twelve counties in the c n e area were represented in the senior livestock divi sion bill alexander r r 1 norval placed second in a class at 95 contestants with a score of 21 out of 300 in the junior livestock judging the following results were re corded susan tied for 17th in the championship class for the senior group all those be tween 18 amd 26 years of age bill alexander placed ninth to lead the halton seniors in the junior group of this class bob leslie r r 3 acton was tied tor eleventh position keith ait- ken r r 3 acton was fifteenth john nurse was tied for sixteenth and lois hunter lied for eigh teenth in every class the judging ab ility was of the very highest cal ibre and the halton contingent deserves praise for their very creditable showing an outstanding success by show officials there were close to 230 calves shown which was more than double the number ex pected several other 4hers in addition to murray disting uished themselves at the event in the junior class for boys and girls 1315 years old the champ ion calf was shown by kenney leach with the reserve champ ion calf going to hartley bull of norval in the senior calves the reserve champion calf was shown by mary bull of norval in the 1012 year old age bracket in the 1315 year old group the re serve calf was shown by duncan bull murray mccaig exhibited the champion calf in the age group 1621 years old in the showman ship division for boys and girls between 13 and 15 years susan mccaig was reserve champion showman murray mccaig was declared champion showman in the 1621 year group murray also received the grand champion showman award for his outstand ing achievements in the group class of five head from any one club the halton and peel jersey club received the firstplace award and in the ontario jersey princess compet ition nancy beaty r r 4 milton
