reasons we in canada have to be truly thankful the president closed this portion of the meeting with prayer mrs lloyd johnston the pres ident of the wa was in the choir for the remainder of the meeting the minutes of the pre vious meeting were read by mrs roy young with mrs gray read ing a very favorable treasurers report it was pointed out that many improvements had been made in the manse this year the church baiaar will be held this year on november 11 from 2 to 430 pm a committee was formed to take charge of this event it will be held in the church parlor the meeting closed with the league held the first meeting of the cur rent season in the rectory fif teen members answered the roll call it was opened by president mrs a drexler the minutes of an executive meeting and the prev followed the close of the meeting gatescampbell dan holds first reunion the gatescampbell clan held their first family reunion at the rockwood conservation park with 49 members attending the weather was jnst perfect which added much to the enjoy ment of a full afternoon of sports for the young folk and a social visit for the older generation mrs kerry jepson of george town was in charge of a peanut scramble and races for the wee tots who all received little favors and balloons the lucky prizes were won by archie gates of acton and cath erine king of burlington following a delicious pot luck dinner a short business meeting was held at which time a vot of thanks was extended to mr and mrs archie gates of acton who were the host and hostess for this year during the election of officers peter gates of lowvllle was el ected as president for 1968 mrs kerry jepson of georgetown se cretarytreasurer and donald gates of hamilton was elected to assist with the planning of next years reunion the oldest couple attending was mr and mrs donald camp bell of port perry the young est and newest married couple was mr and mrs lee smith of hamilton the couple with the largest family was mr and mrs archie gates of acton tho youngest member attending fa donnle smith of hamilton those travelling the farthest dutanoe were mrs christina llttla of caithness scotland and mra ma rion scott btggar of lanarkshire scotland a picnic supper was served at 5 pm with a little extra touch added to the menu which was a large cake decorated with large roses and a special message of welcome inscribed to christina little of scotland and a farewell message to jeaunle smith of woodstock on her journey to scotland where she will be at tending university for a year the host and hostess were assisted on
