friday night beardmore fire chief bern van fleet accepts his honorarium from company beardmore co fire brigade honored at dinner dance beardmore and cos annual salute to the companys fire de partment which doubles as pay day for the brigade was enjoyed by an enthusiastic crowd at the legion hall friday night although the formalities were cot to a minimum by illness of company officials who were un able to attend a delicious dinner was enjoyed followed by euchre and dancing beardmore fire chief bern van fleet extended a warm welcome to all and gave his own personal thanks for the cooperation be received during the past year deputy chief bob angell introduc ed the guests who included the mayor mr and mrs john grief- eneder acton fire chief mick holmes and his wife as well as a representative of this news paper beardmore director ray evel an representing the company reviewed he year and expressed sincere appreciation for a job well done there were no serious fires in the plant this year and the brigade was able to handle minor blazes with such a record asked mr evelan why the need of a com pany brigade re enlarged on the work the brigade did in recogniz ing hazards but felt it was un
