of winter comes thoughts of christmas and of our friends and family at home it was two years ago new years day that a group of christian district officers and their wives met nearby for a hol iday meal together they felt at the time that they would like to continue to meet fairly regularly for bible studies social times etc recently these young mar tied couples have been meeting in this way and we have enjoyed helping them with their studies etc members of that same group who know english and who like to sing english hymns wanted to have regular english services in the srlkakuum church jim ha been conducting these sunday evening services twice monthly for a fair group of christians as well as for nonchrlstlan stu dents who want to improve their english during the first week of aug ust the million gospels crusade came to srlkakulam led by the rev howard fordham with tha use of a sound truck we joined with them in the sale of about 16000 copies of the gospels and the acts of the offender will become truly repentant and that the christian witness of that place may con tinue the christians do need our prayers that they will remain true to christ in every situation and circumstance in april the children and i left for our first visit to the hld sta tion of kodalkanal in south india the american school there con ducted a twomonth kindergarten which barbara happily attended this is the school the children will attend as boarding students if we are allowed another term in india so it was nice to become acquainted with tha school and also to have a most delightful holiday jim joined us in may and we all returned to srtkakulan the middle of june tes our furlough time la al most here our tentative plans axe to sail from bombay on april 19 and to arrive in san
