neared to board tlie tram for ottawa i looked for other ttudentt travelling to ottawa but finding none i feared that i had been forgotten my fejis were without ground for when i arrived in ottawa i wat met promptly by my host who told ma that there lud ben 40 adventurers on the train i awoke promptly monday morning iii lie realizing that by thursday i would dread the thought of gelling up my host dropped my room mate and myself at the chateau lauricr where all the adventurers were to assembly in the banquet room to be welcomed by r a ireld president of the ottawa kotary club and don b re id mayor of ottawa mr field told us that we would all be dejd beat by thursday but none of us believed him now wc know better than to doubt him from here we went to the senate where we were received by senate connelly who told us about the workings of the senate in the system i was especially honoured lo be asked to sit in the speakers chair by the senator in the house of commons we lud the honor of having the right honorable pierre fclhol trudeau prime minister of canada talk to us for about 20 minutes in his talk he expressed that youth is essential for development in the future after a wonderful luncheon at the clialeau mr jjmicson minister or transport gave the address in place of mr trudeau who was unfortunately occupied with the bill lo he given thud reading in the house thai afternoon we toured the piulument buildings and visited the commons in session i wis really disappointed because no one was listening to what the person was saying bven mr trudeau wain i listening lie school and later we enjoyed a band concert by the school band and j dance with music supplied by the brass circus tuesday morning after six hours sleep wc me i at carlelon university where wc were welcomed by professor vallcc he spoke of the nations vertical mosaic and the different clhmc groups in canada then we broke up into our different discussion groups the luncheon address was presented by the honorable robert sunfield who spoke on the three problems facing youth today a need for summer employment b need for higher education and c the infiltration of canadian universities by american professors the afternoon was spent at parliamentary rjcau hall and the rcmi training division at rockchffe rideau hall on sussex drive opposite the prime ministers home is the residence of the governor genera wc met the governor gem ial and his wife in life reception room leaving rideau hall we went to the aeronautics museum before visiting the rcmp here arc the famous planes of history the silver darl the red isaron the spitfire and many others on arriving at the rcmp training division we were given a concert by i he r c m p hand the music was very good we watched an assault course
