acton 4h calf club wisconsin visitors tour bennett farm by bui lasby on monday july 28 si visitor from wisconsin their host and hostesses and several memben arid leaders of the acton 4h calf club toured scotsdale farm which is owned by mr and mrs s g bennett emerson clark manager of scotsdale conducted the tour at 8 pm president keith ajuten called the meeting to order bill usby lead the visitors and members in the 4h pledge cathy lasby acting secretary called the roll bob luby introduced mr and mrs bennett mr braids introduced our guests cathy lasby read the minutes of the june meeting keith aitken announced the coming events and then introduced mr jack james our summer assistant bill lasby gave a type demonstration the visitors and members judged a class of yearling shorthorn bulls brought out in excellent condition by llerdthun george ridley later several members gave reasons in front of the group bill laiby gave the official placing and his reasons the visitors and members moved inside severaltalks were given cathy laiby spoke on the history of the beef breeds tom parker spoke on feedlots randy matthews spoke on how to run a dairy farm and john timmings spoke on a cowcalf operation the visiting wisconsin delegates each told about their homes and their various 4h clubs several questions were asked by the members billluby gave the lesson on causes of contact wild animals the ontario interdepartmental committee on rabies is warning people to avoid any contact with the wild animals including attempts to play with coax or feed them by hand in
