ted tyler jr asking all guarded ciouings tn acton be equipped with floodlight t to light crossings up mr tyler felt some means could be devised that he light would only come on with signals and would prevent accidents caused by poor lighting at die crossings mmmemt winner mobile homes need proper facilities 1 c a cold editor and nrefinished wood panels in to ban mobile home park 8 1 to the editor we will alway have a few in our society who refute to progress but this it 1060 and i would bke to point out a few known fact in answer to the letter in last weeks paper regarding trailer camps fint of all taxes which aeemed to be the writer greatest worry are paid by the mobile home dweller usually s20 a month reparoles of size of family plus property tax and business tax which is paid by the park owner the s20 tax is levied by the municipality to cover education fire and police protection garbage disposal and road maintenance in the mobile home park are the responsibility of the park owner and paid for through park rent of the mobile home dweller secondly mobile home dwellers are not second rate citizens moving from place to place job to job mobile homes today are well built modem living accommodations and attract people in every walk ot life from a member of parliament to a senior citizen including young marneds and construction worker if mobile homes are a blight to tlie community it is through no fault of the dweller adequate park are few and far between and municipalities luve been reluctant to allow modem facilities to be established when one who lus just purcluised a si 0000 mobile home is suddenly faced with a parking problem i am refemng to the pleasant valley situation in mlsstssauga he is more apt to park it anywhere within reason and keep his home than sell at a total loss and try to start over in another type of living accommodation it u all well and good for those able to purchase a house to alt back und criticize how the other half lives but for those who find a house impossible financially prefer to own rather than rent a mobile home is the answer mobile homes being easy to finance and maintenance of thia type or home much less owing to the use od durable aluminum aiding on the exterior and prefinished wood panels in the interior it makes a mobile home desirable to a pent many average canadians who would otherwise he forced to rent all of their lives calling down mobile home dwellers is not the answer the governments of municipalities must establish standards to govern mobile home parks and insure that park owners live up to them in ontario today the parking facilities for mobile homes in general is appalling and does indeed blight communities in many cases but my dear writer that is the fault of the community not the dweller of the mobile home to ban mobile home parks will only pruduce more mobile homes parking in undesirable places for as long as they can get away with it mobile homes are manufactured now and will be for many many year to come in order to clean up our communities we must establish the proper facilities a mobile home dweller mr waldenconway stanley park erin ontario both robert little and m
