religious standards we are bom to lake these tor granted and assume that nothing needs bo be done to prepetuai them we oeas lo be earnest contenders tor the faith wtum was once delivered unto th xaints we are living on our aptritual capiul and in urn it will run out there are people deliberately engaged in breaking down the cnrtsuan auul- ards which we have inherited soma ot th traitors have been within the church itself at its best today the church u engaged in carifig for iu registered members and is not sufoe- ently an aggressive evangeusue force seeking to win souls outside the church uany trusted religious leaden say that evangelism must lake the church itself as a field itffor the church can be a conquering army going into all th world to preach tlie gospel too many church members are willing to work hard to erect buildings or maintain organisations and hesitate to do any personal sul winning th reatwar letd 1719 th late canon streeter said that a generation ago mem were engaged in trying to make people keep the ten commandments but that today it is difficult lo convince people thit the ten commandments should be kept morality suffered during the war there has been a spread of cynic- ton paganism seulartun matwul- ism and lust the sex novels of the past twenty yean are a blot on literature htany magaxinm have been published appealing chiefly lo physical desires and falling to real ise that man is a spirit in whom the spirit of ood may dwell life is revolutionised when we cease to let the sesh rule the spirit and learn how to allow the spirit lo dominate th amh the body is a good servant but a bad master tlie body comes under control when we let the huiit of christ rule our uvea keeping otanahea and other msx the verb lo keep runs as train through judes letter what spiritual voltage there is in this one verse keep yoaistlvea in the love of ood looking for the mercy of our lord jesus cnrtti unto eternal life this does not mean that we should be whipping up our love toward ood but rather that we should be hold ing the affirmation that ood loves us our love to ood will follow when we are finally asured of oods love to us we love him because he first loved us jude had seen some people be gin the chrutlan life and then fall away he knew how necessary it was for each christian to keep exult ing in the love of ood when we do this we are used to keep others our experience of ood may be shared with others who are only beginning to know him towards some we mul show the uitenset sympathy while others need to be checked ruuelj awakened out of their lethargy and selfishness if we are keeping our selves in full coruclouxness of th love of ood opportunities will come tot us to share our convictions with others who are in normal heed or spiritual chaofl- the christian experience first a derived lite and then a shared life la qtra keeaisag u u the ubok of jude reaches lis spiri tual height in the closing benediction ood la able to keep us from falling and at the last to prent us fault less before his presence with exceed ing joy what a faith i what a hope tempted and tried as we often are tossed about by our confticlng desires heartily ashamed of our words and deeds there comes this great extmlorung faith that ood can keep us safe he can giv us victory he will not let us down undemesth us and around us are his loving anas and he will uphold us by his grace even our failures may be turned into victory when we give ood first place his keeping power becomes a reality to us we cease to lake pride in reluhulty is that of the dyfoot a company i well remember john b dayfoot who estabushee he- business many years ago and to this day ih good name of the earlier years has been strongly maintained the
