sport by o mac moollvray the cooler weather of the past few days starts the annual question of whatore the hockey pr for georgetown this year and to which question your scribe must confess he tails to throw little light this column has always held out for an early hockey organization in town but up to the present nothing seems to have been done officially it was supposed to have been noised around by a few of last years exocu tlve that a hockey meeting was to be held but no one seemed to know wny when or where if we are going to create the usual hockey interest in town let s get start ed now so that a couple of at loast fair teams can he lined up for winter must surely toe just around the corner many of last years peppy junior aggregation are past the junior age limit and therefore some material may be found to brace up the inter mediate squad whether players con be had for an ojla junior team this year still remains to be seen and what are we doing about mid get hockey this season we cant aure- ly give up the midget league and fall down on the very thing for which the league was created that of bring lng on players to ftu the ranks of our junior and intermediate squads the older boys of the former midgut teams could be grouped into four classy juvenile teams that would give them the needed experience for junior hockey next winter if this could be arranged at the end of the season an star team could be picked to eater in the oha juvenile playdowns this is only a suggestion but if an one is interested this column would be pleased to give it the necessary publicity then the younger boys of the town could be grouped for another real nhjl midget league the winners to play off for the ontario midget nfl championship the copper cliff athletic commit slon have decided to pay the expenses of the winning midget team of south ern ontario to play their winning team for the ontario championship in copper cliff of course this does not necessarily mean a team from george town but we could have a team tn the running as the trip would be well worth trying tor our own sob goldham attending northern vocational school in toron to after having a very successful prst ear at college football is now em barking on what may prove a success ful hockej season bob is getting in lots of practice at maple leaf gar dens and although he finds the lar our town clerk was instructed to ger ice surface somewhat of a hand write a letter to the acton women s cap will no doubt give a good account institute expressing the appreciation of himself goldham while still a of the council tn the splendid work midge played midget juvenile junl that had been done at falrvlew ccme or and intermediate hockey all in he lery tn the erection of the entrance same vear for georgetown he has there the co operative spirit shown a promising career at the national was one that was appreciated by all sport who had made this improvement pos r sible the annual meeting of the bin flas as we georgetown and us trlct are fortunate to have a canadian lightweight championship nght take place here the title bout in which steve curley defends his crown against russell oliver shifty colour ed sensation is a meeting which cer tain ontario promoters have had de signs on for the past few months as if the canadian championship main bout on the lions club boxing show were not a supercolossal at traction in itself the entire card i filled with scraps which are sure to be real crowdpleasers the sem final is also a champion ship event with ottelo mattussl of ouelph defending his ontario middle freeman dominion government cookery expert jays the clear cold waters of our north ern lakes and rivers the salty tang of our two great oceans make canadian flsh exceptionally fine in flavour the secret in cooking flsh says miss freeman lies in having the heat whether electric gas kerosene or coal stove hot enough to broil or bake them quickly and above all not too long of course the timing is up to the cook and it is this very timing that marks the difference between having flsh that is cooked to perfec- i tlon or stewed until it has lost its v heart and soul and that lndescrihlo something that makes the family wel come flsh with gusto so keep an eye on the flsh when the flesh 1 i arm and tender when the connec- tlve tissue holding the fibres together is gelatinous thats the time to stop fish should be cooked until the al buminous substance is set and no more this is the protein constituent of the flsh and when it takes on a cream colour the albumen is set and the fish is done each flake of the flsh may be pulled apart in loose folds full of its own fiavoursome juices for fillets one inch or less in thickness t takes 10 minutes in a hot oven 500 degrees f whether the flsh
