georgetown high school need no introduction to readers or this news paper we take pleasure in sub mitting more memories from the pen of howard f oram i spent a very pleasant evening re cently with mrs h w kennedy at her home in toronto who as miss hutt was one of our teachers at g h s we discussed pupils teachers and affairs at the school about the time i attended and it proved inten sely interesting she showed me some photographs which helped me to live over again the happy if industrious days i spent at ohfl in my early teens a group photograph taken in 1899 when miss lindsay left was full of interest it contained in addition to ihe pupils attending at that time ome who had left but who had studi ed under miss lindsay in this group were many of those who had passed the entrance at the same time i had and who were fellow students in form i we two were able to name most of those in the picture but naturally there were a few whose names had escaped both of us any one who appeared in that group and who has u copy of the photograph i am sure values jt most highly a photograph he was when teaching at ghs and whose knowledge of botany as i said once before used to amaae me as a boy brought back pleasant mem ories i recall one ocasslon in form i when mr mclaughlin had a fifth form class while we had a spare period i was sitting three or four seats from the front with ed francis we did a good deal of talking and cuttlngup in general finally mr mclaughlin his patience exhausted came down and grabbed first one ot us and then the other by the coat collar and lifted us up off the seat and put us down again i was pretty scared moreover it would have been a little more comfortable if there had been cushions in the seats mr mc laughlin was a good teacher and i am safe in saying that from no teacher have i learned more than i did from lilm in his own particular subjects he was quite an artist with a happy sense of humor he taught us cana dian history and on one occasion he left his text book on the desk and we pupus had a chance of looking through it on practically every blank paye he had drawn a humorous sketch of some historical event that would have done credit to a newspaper ar eata at hamilton beach the brides mother wore a gown of navy lace over taffeta with white accessories and a shoulder corsage of yellow roses the grooms mother wore a navy and white sheer with navy accessories and corsage of pink roses gladioli and roses decorated the reception room a silver basket one of the grooms many canoe trophies centred the lace- covered table and gladioli banked the rosetinted wedding cake for the wedding trip northern ontario by motor the bride wore a marine blue crepe dress with hat velour coat and accessaries of sues on their return the
