limehouse i- to the electors ol georgetown andothers whom it may concern this notice is in regards to the ejection on december th 1 939 for hydro commissioner when i asked the voters for their support to elect me to the position of hydro commissioner for the town of georgetown before going into the matter of why i am not a member of the hydro commission 1 feel i owe the public and those that sponsored my nom ination my many many thanks for their kindness t and the trouble they went too to elect me on de cember 4tb 1939rowd it i the greatest of re- gret that i have to state that i had tb retire from the commission owing to being a divsion court clerk when i signed my qualification papers i was not aware that the municipal act declares that a clerk of the division court was barred from hold ing a position of any kind pertaimngto the corpor ation of any town or city and it was not drawn to my attention until january 1 940 one month later by the chairman of the hydro commission whose duty it was to notify me upon receiving notice from the chairman mr day foot i immediately looked into the mat ter and found the municipal act stated the clerk of a division court cannot act on the muni cipal hydro commission therefore i had mis represented myself in my qualification papers and if i allowed myself to be sworn into office i would be stating a falsehood ys i regret very much the error 6ti my part and most humbly apologize to the electors for the trouble caused through no fault of my own nor the officials of the town had i allowed myself to be sworn in 1 then could hve been disqualified should any person desire to do so again expressing my thanks to the el tors and i trust they will accept my api this error 1 am respectfully yours adv elmer c thompson ji n un in it in 1
