saturday af ternoon and upon landing at nanalmo we had all gone to the barber shop for a hair cut there are times when a hair cut can make one feel so much better and this was one of those times then we put up our tent in jth motor camp and although were far from home and only had a tent to live in yet we had the usual saturday night bath it was early to bed that night and wakening early on sunday morning we stepped out side the tent to see what was going on there were quite a few motor ists in camp that night but as we stepped out the only ojiher person in sight was a lady combing her hair out side her tent about four tents down our row she was quite stout and was wearing riding- breeches at that time bobbed hair was quite the thing however ths lady hadn t adopted the abbreviated fashion a yet and she had a ravy headoederk brown hair and it was quitelong somehow the long hair djdn t seem to fit in along with those riding breeches on that stout lady and even et every time ar nanalmo jumped up on this truck to have their picture taken of course we didn t stop to find out why this particular arrange ment had been made however it gave us something to think aboufcrf we wondered perhaps if this parti cular romance hadnt started with a nickel and a bottle of pop and two straws please away back in their younger says of course possibly either the bride or the groom or even both or tl em may have been employed by the soft drink company that owned the truck however we like to think of the two straws please as the better solution to the mystery v v v we understand that initiations have been curtailed in schools colleges and universities and the reason given of course ls on account of the war we fall to see where the softpedaling of initiations ls any help towards winning the war the fresh men that will miss this ceremony will be missing something that ls im possible to replace as they are only freshmen once initiations are not un like these jokes that the guests like to play on the bride find groom at weddings the groom does every thing that he can think of in order to tool the guests so that they will be inable to decorate the car that they intend using on their honeymoon and jet if the guests don t find the car and decorate it both bride and grom eel as though they have been ihort chaneed in both instances u is good lesson in the art of beln
