the georgetown herald wednes september 27 1944 in case you are interested huobbb gubavbb j the report of no 1 subcommittee on war expenditure which was tabled at the end ol the recent session of the house of commons contained some important recommendations this subcommittee this year completed its inquiry into aircraft production in canada we are now producing the incaster and mosquito bombers on british account a dive bomber for the u 8 navy as well as seven other types of planes as of june 30th of thla year canada has delivered over thirteen thousand planes the committee found that the vlckers aircraft plant at montreal had a profit sharing scheme under which the men and women working in the plant receive one half of the profits after reaching 76 efficiency as a result of thla profit sharing plan the efficiency of the plant has been so increased that production costs have been substantially lowered notwithstanding the payment of the bonus the savings effected greatly exceed the cost of the profit bonus the committee recommended that this plan of profit sharing by labour should be instituted in all aircraft plants in canada already steps have taken by the department to implement this recommendation this report was opposed by the conservative mem- ben of the committee but was supported by all other members including the social credit and the c c p members dancing
