the standing committees were con sidered and amended and later passed in open council at the morning session in the ab sence of the warden the exwarden j m mcdonald occupied th chair officers of the lone scots address ed council with regard to the work of the regiment and asked for con tinued financial assistance activities of the regiment were outlined by col bertram and major mcclure iollowed by a financial statement by oapt smith the following motion was passed by council moved and seconded by messrs mcdon ild and hillmer that the lome scots regiment of halton peel and dufferin be granted former georgetown merchant was buried herf a former well known georgetown merchant pred j haddell passed away a his home in toronto after a itngthy illness on thursday march 1 the late mr haddell was born in eng land in 1878 during his stay in georgetown he operated two bake ihops one in the store on john st across from the arena and one in the store in the mcglbbon block the family left georgetown about six ytar ago and had since been living in to ronto surviving are his wife and two daughters and a son in detroit michl gan funeral services were held from wards funeral home on march
