preliminary meeting to form an organization in georgetown to sup port organised sport among the young people was held to the town hall last friday night a lively discussion took place concerning all angles ol the sug4 fct it was felt that much could be done 11 the proper organization and the necessary funds were available to promote baseball hockey tennis and other sports and that such a council would fill a definite need in the town it was the opinion of the meeting that a good way to start would be to hold a lather and son banquet latter this month and at the banquet form a permanent organisation quest speakers and some sport stars from the city would be invited a constltu tlon decided upon and everything put in shape for hockey this winter fox the young lads of town a committee beaded by mervyn robb was appointed to arrange for the ganquet other members being rev c c cochrane harold mcclure c 8 staoey sid silver alf sykes walter blehn jim sargent elmer dron gilbert mcrachol meeting in the gregory theatre on monday night when trie proposed sewage system was discussed mayor harold cleave dr 0 v wulams mob dr a e berry chief sanitary engineer of the ontario dep t of health and mr c r hagey consulting engineer all made brief addressee pointing out the many advantages which sewerage would brmg to georgetown major cleave expressed himself as favouring the plan and hoped sewerage and the vote which takes place next tuesday oct 9tb on the advice of dr berry provincial sanl tary engineer council learned at the public meeting on monday that it was possible for both owners and tenant to have a vote last night the coun cil endorsed the sewage rental system as the payment plan favoured and decided to extend the vote to tenant the 1944 municipal voters list will be used on tuesday and all qualified municipal voters whose names appear on that list are entitled to vote un der the sewage rental system there would be an estimated increase of 79 mills on the general tax rate for 30 years and the rental charged to each user would be roughly equivalent to present water rates as new horn are built and new users added costs to the individual would be reduced and wher
