fruit display was mostly from our own oounty such as apples grapes pears peaches plums crab apples watermelon and muskmelon the grains and seeds were very ar tistically arranged in sheaves of grain in each corner of the float some of the grain was barley oats timothy wheat and pampas grass there were flowers in vases some were paper the gladioli looked very nice with the skillfully blended back ground of red white and blue there were posters on the side and back telling about haltons coopera tion at the top of the float was a revolving platform with the pictures of the king and queen and on parsnips and winter radishes on the next tier were placed potted plants pampas grass gladioli and many other kinds of cut flowers from front to back was an arch sup posed to represent the basket handle this was decorated wllh field sweet and pop corn above this in the centre was a large picture frame showing the king and queen on one side and the union jack with the words welcome home on the other at the extreme edge there were gar lands of corn on th cob whtoh were draped on either side the background throughout was red white and blue while two flags hung at the hack altogether it was
