residing ki dundalk shortly af ter the death of her husband in 1912 mrs barnes took up residence with her daughter mrs arnott at ware- ham there she lived for some thirty years moving to dundalk three years ago nurtured in scotch presbytertan- lsm and later grounded in baptist principles mrs- barnes was concer ned rather for the advancement of the church universal than that of any one creed and on going to live wareham she transferred her membership to the methodist now united church there she was a charter member of wareham ladles aid with which she laboured enthu siastically in the raising of funds for building the new church the fine sunday school library there is almost entirely due to the efforts of mrs barnes and her family to think of mrs barnes is not on ly to think of books of flowers and of refinement but also of a ready wit and a sense of humour which helped through the trying situations which inevitably arise in life a wonderful store of gems of litera ture afforded her
