new home on un ion street this week we will miss you from our neighbourhood sorry to hear mrs sam tennant is in hospital wo hope for you a speedy recovery from your suffer ing the ladles from st georges church held rummage sale on saturday hadnt given these af fairs a great deal of thought until talking with mrs w v grant discovered that in contributing to these little sales we are giving in two- ways the money realized from the sales is used for church work and the exchange of articles at the sale gives many a person added pleasure besides giving them a chance to purchase some needed article at a reduced price for my self i might say when taking in a few things i had to spare i chan ced upon a book of humorous verse which has given me great pleasure so our hats are off to the ladies again the children arc reminding us that halloween is on its way last year owing to a party at the old town hall there was very little mischief perpetrated all the chil dren have needed was the interest taken in their amusements and we have no trouble we find the chil dren taking gtcat pleasure in lis tening to our record player the boys club which was sponsored by dr and mrs clifford held was a grand organization and did much for the boys i find that the chil dren have a great deal of appro- elation for the things we do for them their minds arc full of a thousand ideas their enthusiasms are unbounded these days there is very little room in our garage for our car it has been turned into a playroom and worshop by the boys oh well what is a car com- pared to a childs happiness i mr clarence armstrong has left for thorold where he will work in the papermill every day brings its happy mom- ents and its sorrows if you would increase your happiness forget those sayings which hurt you for- get the peculiarities of your friends and only remember the good points that make you fond of them be- j cause they have to live with their own conscience do away as far i as possible with all the disagree able things in life they will come but only grow larger when you re member them obliterate the dis- agreeable things of yesterday and write up on todays clean sheets those things lovely and lovable i let fate do her worst there are re lics of joy i bright dreams of the past which she cannot destroy which comein the nighttime of sorrow and care and bring back the features that joy used to wear u long be my heart witli such memories filled i like the vase in which roses have once been distilled i you may break you may shatter the vase if you will but the scent of the roses will hang round it still anne i high school news by uoyd our field day is over and all our champions have been presented with a crwn of lyy oie poison ylrietyj on two glorious after-
