and so we find things at fever pitch with the raiders in the midst of an exciting final series with sundridge were still calling georgetown to wii for while sundaidge is a good team it has not the ajjp round starring roster that the raiders possess their play very definitely centres around bucko mcdonald and most of the plays start with him even though he rarely goes past the centre line- whfen he does it is fatal as witness storeys five breakaways which produced four goals here last thursday perhaps it would be better not to mention the con tentious subject of hockey tickets there has been a mounting demand for seats as the playoffs advanced and there has been criticism of the hockey club the parks board and the unfortunate volunteers who have handled sales there are points of argument on both ide and it is hard to argue with an irate fan who has been unable to get a seat some consideration is due however to those on the hockey executive and the placers themselves who make hockey possible and they are entitled to first choice of seats though there should be some limit placed on the advance sale another year we would suggest that players and executive be given choice of a limited number of seats and that options on reserved seats be sold to those who wish to retain a certain seat all season the first time an option was not exercised the holders option would lapse the option sale would give the hockey club extra money to carry on in the face of what is always a deficit and guarantee that seasonlong fans would get their seats another suggestion would be that tickets for the next game be put on sale after the preceding game at the arena wicket so that a fan would not have to stand in line at a time which would conflict with his working hours potpourri a fire on easter friday has become almost tradi tional and this year was no exception the brigade was called at supper time to the home of mr and mrs george denham on academy road to a chimney fire no damage was reported a total eclipse of the moon the first in several years was observed a week ago last night it began about 10 pm and lasted past the midnight hour those who saw the best years of our lives at the roxy last week may have noticed how in the two years since the picture was made we have ime to accept the longer ladies skirts as custom ary the dresses worn in the picture by myrna loy and teresa wright were noticeably shorter than the current styles the twin population of georgetown was increased by two last week with the birth of a son and daughter to mr and mrs howard graff other twins which come to mind in town are the webster girls stamp girls armstrong boys hilher boys jack and beatrice brill wfe imagine there are no arguments in a twin household about who gets up to look after the baby mother and dad both have to pitch in mr w c maguire of regina saskatchewan who is visiting with his daughter miss prairie maguire and mrs i webster in norval celebrated his 84th birthday last week a man who has led a strenuous athletic life often puts on extra weight when he retires from active sport- which makes us wonder just what bucko mcdonald will look like when he hangs up his skates one of these years while bucko may not remember this we have pleasant recollections of a time he picked us up while thumbing home from onlha army camp he is a good conversationalist and a great var iety of topics were discussed the occasion is doubly remembered because it was the day we were hurrying to get home after receiving news that we were to be a father fpr the first time and luck was against us in rides until bucko happened along as we write this column monday afternoon mr jack makin who moved from town to toronto thirty years ago has dropped into the office to renew his subscrip tion mr and mrs makin were on their way home from a visit in london miss joyce hamilton wore a gown of pink sweet peas was what appeared in the gilliardebsary wedding account last week thanks to a dropped line of type miss hamilton wore a gown of pink taffeta and carried a bouquet of pink sweet peas js what we meant to say dog days are here this being the season for payment of dog tags the
