not meet the assessment requirements of 300 in the past ten years there has been a growing tendency for p to be owned jointly in husbands and wifes name in many cases when the property is assessed no record has been made of this joint owner ship and a wife continues to be shown on the list as mfnc there being no difficulty irt voting in decem- ber the parties concerned have never bothered to chck the voters list and many were disappointed to learn when checking the list of voters in last weeks herald that they were unable to vote the municipal act says that in voting for a money bylaw the last re vised assessment role must be used and there was noth ing that could be done about this we would suggest that every citizen check each year when the new voters list is issued to make sure that their listing is correct when ownership of prop erty changes hands it is also important to check with the assessor to make sure that the new ownership is recorded and if it is a joint ownership to draw this to his attention a money bylaw is not something that occurs every year but no one knows when the next one might come and many of the difficulties which cropped up this time could be eliminated if each voter would check en his listing it wont be the same something will be missing next hockey season when the raiders again swing into action for the past few seasons a trio of ladies
