trifle jaded and falling needles start making it a nuisance instead of a pleasure- personally the we al ways feel if lltutjad to see the tree go out shorn of all its glamour to meet an ignominious end on the town garbage dump 3 during christmas week we like to take a drive around town and enjoy looking at the brightly lit trees through the win dows of homes this year too there seemed to be more outdoor christmas trees than usual and ihcy did look beautiful all aglow with coloured lights we may have missed some but those we noticed were at the homes of mr and mrs w f bradley main st south mr and mrs ken mac donald market street mr and mrs blake leslie market street mr and mrs george glassford uiuon street mr jnd mrs r b fouhs charles street mr and mrs trygve wold maple ave brigadier and mrs f c wal lace maple ave mr and mrs fred chapman durham street mr and mrs h c mcclure maple ae and mr and mrs w ford just across from viuoughby s beyond maple ave and of course it wouldn t seem like christmas down town if we didn t have the large illuminated lions community christmas tree also during christmas week wc had ocasion to drive thiounh ac tonand not iced that electrically operated wig wags had been placed at the rail ways crossing don t know how long they v e been ihoie but cer tainly its been a crying need for years there are so many tracks- and the visibility is poor now we can keep our eyes peeled for the wigvvags and be absolutely cer tain that when we embark on the crossing the coast is clear just before christmas a new apartment house built by mrs alice potts on john street past the culvert was com- pleted and three young couples moved into the apartments mr and mrs william cunningham and mr and mrs joe mcmenemy jr are occupying the iwo upstairs apartments and mr mr and mrs a morrow and their three months old son leslie david mr morrow is employed at alliance paper mills ltd w hen mr and mrs thomas parry and family moved from nor mandy boulevard to their new home on main street north their normandy boulevard house was ren ted by mr and mrs marshall tim bers and their two daughters wan da and donna wanda is with srrjtlb stone ltd and donna is a pupil in grade 8 in public school also anotner change- on nor- mandy boulevard which we in tended to note some time ago is that mr and mrs james yates freddie and ronnie moved into the house formerly occupied by mr and mrs roy barker and fam- ily sprry to learn that mrs dor- rie kidd is in toronto general hos pital where she underwent an op eration we join with her friends in hoping that shell soon be abre to be home again with her husband and children afraid we have an apology to make the type gremlins stol into an item last week and made it read that arnold brill is in paris france working there for the winter with the american govern ment in connection with the amer ican- aid program when it should have read in connection with their european aid program the other day in a local grocery store we picked up a roll of tinfoil and decided to try it out in he container a myr iad of uses are listed including us ing it as a coyer for foods in the refrigerator and that is where we made our big discovery per haps you like us have always bad trouble trying to keep cut cheese moist and fresh after having it in the house for a couple of days we had trier everything 10 w g 101day journey made by the ancienperuvians could have made- mile voyage to the islands on a similar tfraft was td support gftheocy that the south sea islands were peopled from peru as you cah imagine the tale is an exciting one- and ex ceedingly well told when we heard of the death of nancy teeter it came with a sense of shock some how we just couldn t convince our selves that nancy as everyone called her was gone she always looked and acted the same even as we remember her from our childhood she made herself an integral part of georgetown during all the years he lived here by beintfvitally interested in cry- bddv when meeting you on the street she always greeted you with enthusiasm and stopped to chat and lisk ou about the various members of your family sometimes she would answer her questions her self before you had a chance the uaj she could keep track of famil ies children ihear ages and where abouts was truly amazing yes nan cy was a very colourful personal ity and we were sorrv to learn o h r death a
