cartruck crash occurred near the village of moffat two conces sions west of speyside details of tjie accident are meagre at the time of going to press but it is reported that the truck driver chas cou sin mr clare eddie who was ac cidentally killed in a traincar ac cident on wednesday at weston mr eddie was a well known musi cian having played in such well- known bands as man iveniiey art hallman and at the time of nis death played for paul firman they were accompanied by mr william hayes of inglewood mr eddie was a nephew of mr hayes engagements mr and mrs hugh diekle an nounce the engagement of their daughter marlon joantp robert hugh mcdonald reid buried at glen williams the death occurred very sudden ly last tuesday july 3rd in st- josephs hospital guelph of hugh mcdonald mac reid mr reid who was in his 58th year suffered a stroke earlier in the week and passed away without regaining con sciousness he had been employed with the acton woodgraft at the time of his death deceased was born in moose jaw sask son of the late mr and mrs godfrey reid and since coming east a number of years ago has re sided in georgetown being employ ed for a number of years with the georgetown lumber co he is sur vived by his wife the former mary florence marchment a son claude and daughter betty also a sister mrs cairns weir of detroit and a sister and three brothers in the west two children norman and jean predeceased their father the funeral service was conduc ted by rev alex j calder of knox presbyterian church on friday af ternoon with interment taking place in glen georgetown and glen williams parishes of the anglican church were well represented at the annual halton deanery rally at appelby college grounds on sunday after noon over 500 attended the rally from merchants are decorating their stores for the occa sion guelph 6irl killed at mt pleasant crossing a level crossing accident at mt pleasant friday last claimed the life of a popular young guelph girl patricia dorothy watklns the ac cident occurred at 715 am when a cnr commuter train plowed into the centre of her car miss watklns was in her 21st year and a daugh ter of mr and mrs jack c wat- kins mr watklns is chairman of guelphs board of education miss watkins had travelled by bus the night before to spend the night at the farm home of her fiances uncle she was to have been mar ried in six weeks time to jack lin- decker of chicago a student at the oac who is spending the summer in the district she left early that morning in her fiances car for her home in guelph where she planned to meet her mother and go shopping for a wedding trousseau the young woman was trapped in the wreckage of the car for three hours before workmen could cut away the chassis from the engine and wreckage
