grouq and their leaders from acton as visiting guests the girls of each group stated heir purpose in life as a canadiarigirl in training or as an explorer and after a short address by rev j m smith and during the singing of the closing hymn while shepherds watched their flocks the girls lit their candles from that of their lea der and recessed to the rear of the church for the benediction and ves per mr smith asked them in hla ad dress not to consider this as just a candleslighting service but rath er as a symbol of receiving chris tian light from anqther who bad already received it from
