ont january 22nd 1957 dear editor it has just come to my attention that l along with almost everyone else to georgetown have been guil ty of gross indifference to a socie ty that deserves the support of us all the annual meeting of the red cross was scheduled for last tues day evening in the committee room at the municipal building the late leroy dale was president of the organization and it was therefore necessary to meet and elect a new president the present officers have held office since 1948 and they too felt that they would like to have someone else take oyer their offices who was elec- ledwhat business was conducted no one was elected and no busin ess was conducted why for the simple reason that there were only four people present the members- of the old executive i sat comfortably at home watch ing tv secure in the fact that someone else would represent me and do my share however apparen tly everyone else felt the same way it seems too bad that we ex pect so much of this organization in time of disaster and receive so much from them that we would completeley ignore them in time of peace how cad they keep their organizatipn going so that it is ready to serve us if we dont back them up at all times let us hope that when another meeting is called there will be a good turnout of the people of geor getown to give them support they so richly deserve i know i will be
