hall that thus far little satisfaction has been obtained from the ontario hospital services commission as to a date when approval will be given for a hospital to serve this area the association is trying o obtain from the co the body which has authority to ap prove all new hospital construction in this province assurance that ap proval will begiven within a reas onable time provided the associa tion can furnish proof that it has raised the funds necessary to build the hospital in view of the 6000 per bed grant approved by the county along with federal and pro vincial grants and the possibility of other substantial grants the as sociation is confident it can raise the balance mr hall agreed with the in creasing need for a hospital here and stated that the commission should provide the association with a more satisfactory answer to its jrequest than has been obtained thus far he volunteered- to obtain the answer sought by the associa tion as soon as possible also present at the meeting were doctors j h chamberlain alis- tair macintosh alan thompsonand ormond brewster who prepared a signed statement for mr hall to the effect that they felt a hospital was urgently needed here contrary to statements attributed to them- in the agnew report the latter was prepared by a firm of hospital con- militants to county council after a survey of hospital needs in ilalton
