prince operetta plays 3 nights at glen pupils of glen williams public school presented an operetta the frog prince for three nights last week under direction of donna mcmillan music supervisor for the school assisted by principal ralph mckeown and his staff the program opened with a hello chorus by a number of the students grade 1 pupils cos turned for their parts followed with a number dutch windmills alice meyer on the first two nights and gloria zilio the third night welcomed the audience and told the story which was to be performed in song and dialogue the first act lakes place in the palace court jard and opens with peasants led by laddie haines paying homage to the young prin cess carolyn cowell on her birth da among the gifts she recei ved were eleven dolls which came to life to tell the story of their native land in song and dance di ane cuthbert represented sunny spain joy haines the land of ice as an eskimo christine earl mer ry england barbara hilts scot land cora missionary topic japan mr archie lawr visited at vic toria harbour over the weekend and his mother mrs m lawr re turned with him for a visit here mr a willitts has returned home after his recent operation and is grateful to all his friends and neighbours and the bauina- fad institute who remembered him with cards during his stay in the hospital we are also pleased to report that dr clifford reid is feeling better after his illness and is able to be back in his office again mr and mrs don goranson and son from weyburn saskatchewan are visiting with mr and mrs el- wood snow and family miss lydia snow visited on sun day with her parents mr and mrs j w snow tbe ogit held a very success ful valentine party on monday night at the home of the smith girls owing to the inclement weather the sleigh ride had to be cancelled and a treasure hunt which took them visiting in the homes around the village was en joyed by everyone and the rest of the program consisted of stunts and games hot dogs and hot cho colate were served and the even ing came to a close with the sing ing of taps about one hour later than usual mr and ijlrs eugene meelhin- ney nee eileen plouffe newlyweds last month were honored at a par ty in the peacock school last fri day night and were presented with a chrome kitchen set the hosts for the evening on behalf of the community were mr and mrs cam mcenery mr and mrs m
