vote july 11th 1958 dear mr editor on friday july 25th an esti mated 525 halton farmers wiube given the opportunity to vote on the method of selling their hogs the question asked on the secret ballot will require a simple indi cation of yes or no there wilt not be a series of choices to make it will simply be a choice between the present organized system of marketing or no system at all there has been a great deal of discussion debate and argument over the question that faces pro maveal motor sales ltd tow internanonal truck deafer ducers when they go to the polls like all plans the present market ing method has come in for cntt cisns and attack but the question facing producers will simply be whether they want to continue co operative organized marketing they will not be asked to say whether or not they favor the present compulsory directional system whether they want more assembly points or fewer larger or smaller whether they like or dislike the people they have plac ed in charge of the marketing op eration producers will decide by their vote whether they want to single- handed bargain to sell hogs or whether they prefer to bargain as an organized group hog producers in halton and other ontario counties have an important decision to make when they cast their ballot we are not so presumptuous as to sug- gust to producers familiar with the problems of both systems the choice they should make we do urge that halton s 525 producers do however take the necessary time to cast their bal lot after an understanding re view of the problems involved halton hog producers have an important date on julv 25 it is their democratic duty to express their opinion by the ballot they cast sincerely halton hog producers assoc local family attend milton family reunion mr and mrs
