last week when a fatal accident was reported at the intersection of the 8th line and no 8 sideroad the accident vicltim was arthur martel 41 of vlnemount mr hartel whose wife marie st jean is a sister of miss the- rese st john of notre dame de beauregard farm was en route to the farm to assist in killing sheep he frequently visited the farm to help his sisterinlaw and the boys in their farm operations mr mrw prattrpcknil -to- openandnol gravel truck driven by charles hoffele of barriston collided at the intersection on wednesday morning georgetown fire depart ment was called when the gravel truck caught fire and the local ambulance brigade removed mr hoffele to milton hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and shock a native of montreal mr martel operated a fruit farm at vine- mount and also worked at the oakville basket co he leaves his wife one daughter jacqueline and his mother six brothers and a sister in montreal at the time of the accident miss sl jean was just leaving on a business trip to hamilton see ing the fire truck go past the farm and mindful of a barn fire just down the road the previous j monday at the lloyd davison farm she waited to see that the fire was not in the vicinity as she left the farm she heard the ambulance go by unaware that tragedy was striking close to home she was notified of the accident when stopped by a police car near hamilton as police were contact ing relatives a holiday turned into a tragedy july 26th when mrs g a robin son 22 guelph st and her dau ghter and husband mr and mrs duncan seed anj their baby dau was threatened by fire for the third time this week when stumps on the edge of the wooded area broke into flame saturday afternoon the stumps were originally ignit ed by sparks from the davison barn to be extricated through the left side of the car mr reed who was taken to cooley dickenson hospital was under observation for possible in ternal injuries the baby who suffered cuts and bruises is
