wednescu when george town public school board held their first meeting after the sum mer recess in harrison school work on the building which for a brief period had been at a stand still has been resumed with a new speed up schedule without sacrif icing any specifications outlined in the original architect s plan however the early september op ening date will still be missed by at least a month and staggered classes are inevitable labour came to a halt on the building through the board s own request when it was discovered that work had been proceeding for almost three weeks without regular supervision since that time a meeting of the board and contractor has corrected the diffi culty pat poster who was sup ervising the construction of an etobicoke school was moved here by the contractor and has been on the job every day directing the speed up schedule the action came following an exchange of letters between school board chair man ray salter and the lostracro construction company concerning the retarded progress the board are arranging a tour of new schools in the area the first step in plans for another school in the delrex subdivision near the ninth line the school will probably be a twostorey buil ding and will no doubt be needed b the 1969 60 term to handle children from the semi detached homes now being built a iking containing four class rooms has been added to harrison public school since last term and space should now be available here to handle the increased fall registration however the enrol ment will likely follow last years pattern and continue to expand month bv month as opposed to the enrolment at wngglesworlh and chapel street public schools which has usually found its level by the first of october the board agreed to hold heir next meeting on tuesday sep cm ber 9th rather than the regular wednesday september 3rd when it was felt that sufficient knowl edge of registration would not be aailable playground facilities first endeavour of
