sponsored by the lions clubs of georgetown the robin hood float complete with castle moat and draw bridge and including maid marion friar tuck and little john caught the admiring eye of the judges enroute and was awarded the lions club trophy for best float in the par ade entered by the georgetown chamber of commerce it won oiit over some fifteen other floats harrison school again copped the john r barber plaque for best entry by a school with jack spratt the herald award for best from the business group went to the 1 ja for santa and reindeer while north halton builders hickery dickery dock won the commerc ial and industry class plaque don ated by chamber of commercef judging the floats were mem bers of the acton chamber of com merce james ledger frank ter ry andrew mackenzie jean braida aldo braida and jack holmes santa made his perennial stop at the intersection of mu1 and main streets and gave away close to two thousand bags of candy to an anxious crowd of knee high admirers many of whom bad wai ted in line for well over an hour much of the expense for the bags of treats were paid for by funds raised through a poultry draw sponsored by the lions and made following santas
